This is far and above on quality, functions and feel. To compare, I also purchased a Korg nanoPad2 for this same purpose and the two products are night and day. My needs were definitely met with this controller, and I'm very happy that I purchased it. I wanted something with a good playable feel, along with options to customize the pads any way I wanted to. I purchased this for the following: I needed access to more drum pads than my current midi keyboard allowed (8 on keyboard, 16 on this).
